How to tell which one your problem is

People frequently arrive with a matter that sits in two of these at once, and that is normal rather than a complication. A domestic charge runs alongside a family case. A divorce turns on what happens to the house. An estate contains a farm with an access dispute attached to it. Because all six are handled from this office, a matter that turns out to be two things does not mean hiring twice.

If you are not sure which area you need, describe what happened rather than trying to name it. Working out the category is our job, and it is usually the first five minutes of the first call.

What every one of these has in common

  • Greg Chaney is the attorney on the matter. Not a different lawyer each time, not whoever is free that morning.
  • You get told what is likely to happen, including when the honest answer is that a course of action is not worth what it costs.
  • Deadlines drive the order of work. If something you have been served with has a date on it, that changes what happens first.
  • The matters are heard in courts this office appears in regularly: the Canyon County Courthouse in Caldwell, and the Ada County Courthouse in Boise.

Where we practice

Canyon, Ada, Payette and Washington counties, from Nampa and Middleton across to Boise and Meridian, and up the valley to Payette and Weiser. There is a fuller list on areas we serve, including which courthouse hears a matter from each town.
